Inventive Writing Prompt Round-up #32

Here's the latest collection of writing prompts, taken from my daily Tumblr blog.  Happy writing!

#219  She hated it when she watched a movie or read a book that she didn’t understand. And yet, those were the stories that stuck with her….

#220  "Do one thing that scares you every day."  Eleanor Roosevelt.  What would be the scariest thing your main character could do right now, in this moment?

#221  "Enough! Basta! I’ve had enough.  Stop it right now."

What has the character had enough of?

#222 I know a man who doesn’t eat sweets.  He’s simply never tempted by them. Does your main character have a sweet tooth? If so, what kind of sweets does he like?  If not, what, if anything, does he eat instead?

#223  It was not a great way to start the day.

#224  They were eager to get away.  But they didn't realize how difficult it would be to leave.  First there was _____________, then _______________.  And then, _________ happened.

#225 When you look back at your life, what's the biggest difficulty you've overcome? When your main character looks back at his/her life, what is his or her biggest difficulty?

What are you working on at the moment?  How is it going?

#220 The scariest thing my character could do right now, this moment, is be handcuffed to a chair and force to look at a dozen pictures of Eleanor. How do you think Max Factor became a cosmetic giant? If any competing company could haven signed on and made the first lady beautiful, you would never have heard of Max. It’s not enough to be a caring and incredibly smart leader. If you want to be the front story on ET, you better look hot!

It was not a great way to start the day. A migraine, she’d expected. A migraine, she could deal with. Meds by the bed, along with an unopened bottle of Emergency Water.

Power out on the coldest day of the year, however, she had not prepared for. Her little house might be in a fairly mild climate zone, but 10 degrees was not mild, not by any means. Not on hardwood floors.

And she’d left her house shoes downstairs, next to the Emergency Coffee maker.

    Great start.
