Weekly Writing Quote
I’m going to California for a wedding, so here’s the quote of the week a day early:
"Stories are for joining the past to the future. Stories are for those late hours in the night when you can’t remember how you got from where you were to where you are. Stories are for eternity, when memory is erased, when there is nothing to remember except the story."
Does that give you chills or what? I’ve had it pinned up on my bulletin board for ages and unfortunately I don’t have the attribution. Maybe Ellen Gilchrist. I’ll do some research when I return home on Monday and see if I can figure it out.
