For those of you who desire an addictive experience on the internet (like we don't have enough of those) try the live feed of the owl and her babies on Ustream: http://www.ustream.tv/theowlbox . My bird-watching cat, Captain, really likes it, too.

Very cool. For years, we had an owl in one of the trees behind our house. One day, he took off and did a drive-by on our back deck–nearly giving us a heart attack. Very funny thinking about it now. :-) Have a good one.

I’d love to see an owl fly-by like that sometime! One day a few years ago my neighbor’s parrot, Phoebe, got loose, and swooped through our yard, wings fully spread. Amazing!

Every now and then, we get a hawk floating through the air. A lot of this happened in the early days when our subdivision was still in the construction stage. It happens less and less as more people move in, but if you keep your eyes open, you can still catch a glimpse of these magical moments.

I live a couple blocks away from a park and a golf course and we often get hawks from over there. Also coyotes…which is why my cats are indoor cats.

Charlotte, I’m a huge bird watcher. They fascinate me. I could watch this video for hours….thanks a lot!

You’re welcome…but consider yourself warned, it is highly addictive! I keep the stream open on my browser all day.
