Otherwhere

Well Hey, Otherwhere, It’s Nice to See You Again!

I’ve been remiss in providing you with Otherwhere links for quite some time now. The problem is not that I don’t have enough, it’s that I have too many.  And when I start to corral them, I get overwhelmed.  Okay. Deep breath. Here we go (and forgive me if they are not in any particular order):

Okay, I could go on…and on…and on. But my cats are begging me to feed them and besides, this ought to be enough to keep you busy for awhile, no? Do weigh in on what you’re looking at on the web in the comments.

You always give is interesting links. I like the “Easy Edits” site. I’m all for anything to make my sentences more interesting. We’ve all been through that “search for the right word” thing. That often ends in frustration for me. The pop up from my word processor has a thesaurus. I also have a clunky paper one above my monitor. More often than not, the matching words are all familiar and no more exciting than the first one I typed. I suppose I mean there’s no easy fix, but link gives me a little juice, some umph for my next rewrite. Thanks, Charlotte.

Thank you, J.D. I probably give interesting links because I spend waaay too much time farting around on the internet looking at them. A very bad habit for a writer. I have a little word book I started during my MFA days. It is just my hand-written notes in a mini-binder, but it can be helpful. I used to try to write down new words or words I had to look up but I’ve gotten a bit lazy recently. Maybe this exchange will inspire me to go back.

Thanks, Zan Marie! I’m a little slow on responding to comments because I was dealing with spam. But all is well now.
